Decide how you wish to use Sentry.
Offline Mode
Available for Sentry 2 (See label in the back of the Sensor)
In this mode, Sentry will function without being paired with Cuby or connected to Wifi.
Online Mode
Sentry will be paired with a Cuby of your choice. The sensor will work conected to wifi.
1.ONLINE MODE
- In the main menu of the Cuby App, select the sensors option.
- Touch the + sign to add a new sensor.
- Scan the QR code located at the bottom of Sentry with your phone.
- Select the “Online Mode” configuration mode
- Assign a name to your Sentry.
- Select the Cuby G4 that is going to be paired with Sentry.
2.OFFLINE MODE
- In the main menu of the Cuby App, select the sensors option.
- Touch the + sign to add a new sensor.
- Scan the QR code located at the bottom of Sentry with your phone.
- Select the “Offline mode” configuration mode.
- Assign a name to your Sentry.
Search for A/C Protocol
- Press the button on the back of the sensor until the led indicator shows pink
(Configuration mode) - In the Cuby App, a screen will show an image that says “Connecting to Sentry”, stand by.
- Touch the green “Start” button to begin the search for protocol.
- Sentry will send an infrared signal towards the A/C, if your A/C turns on or makes a sound touch “yes”, otherwise touch “no” and continue until it does.
- Select the best option accordingly to the place Sentry is located.
3.INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT: Make sure that there are no cables or pipes where you want to install the sensor. Proceed with caution when drilling.
CONSIDERATIONS
It is highly important to place the sensor in an ideal zone/area, away from the flow of air conditioning, windows and ceiling fans.
The sensor has a detection area of 6 to 7 meters in diameter depending on the height of the ceiling. When installed in bedrooms, it is recommended to place it as close as possible to the bed without violating the above recommendations.
Screw Mount
- Place the mounting accessory on the ceiling where the sensor will be installed and mark the central hole with a pencil.
- Use a drill to make a hole.
- Place the dowel and screw the mounting accessory.
Double sided tape mount
Remove the protector layer of the double sided tape and place it on the back of the mounting accesory.
Clean the area and place the mounting accessory and press for a few seconds untill it sets.
Place the back side of Sentry against the mounting accessory, insert and slide the sensor until you hear a click.
